Topic: jumpscares and warnings: should all jumpscares alias to jumpscare_warning?

Posted under General

Currently, there are three different tags for jumpscares:
jumpscare
jump_scare
jumpscare_warning

There are all nearly synonymous. The first two are definitely synonyms and should be aliased together, but the third tag presents a possible issue.

Are all posts with a jumpscare eligible for a jumpscare warning? Does it require a warning if a character is jumpscared, but in a way that would not be scary to the viewer? Or should the tags be aliased away to jumpscare_warning in all cases for the benefit of users with heart issues or other health problems that could be harmed if the tag is less visible?

I would like some feedback about this before making an alias BUR.

I'd say remove the tags from anything that doesn't have sound. Edit:Or at least anything that isn't animated
Then alias the top two to the warning variant
Potential heart issues and health problems take precedence in my opinion

For art that has jumpscare as a visual gag or something that the characters are experiencing, we can create a jumpscare_(suffix) tag for them so it can have its own wiki that will show up in autosuggestions but clearly denote that it's separate from the user experience
