Reason: okay these tags have been kinda left out to accumulate for a while and, in their current form, they're not very useful and could use a revamp into a better format.
currently these tags are, as described in their wikis, just for instances where all the characters of a group are in a single post. two problems arise from this definition 1) that definition has absolutely zero functional utility, no better than searching all of the character tags at once 2) group memberships can change over time, there's no reason a member in one instance couldn't leave or join or be substituted.
my proposed solution is to rework these group tags as copyright tags, and have them function somewhat like how we tag real-life musical performers and their branding. this would mean that we'd tag the characters performing "official <group> buisness" under this, as well as any instances of group branding and (in the case of musical groups) any music credited to the group in-canon.
---
the tags included are tags that _I'm_ aware of and _I_ believe could deserve this treatment. if there are any other groups anyone believes ought also be included I could add them, and on the other hand I'm willing to edit the BUR to disclude any groups that currently exist in the group.
in specific, I will admit that I'm not very well versed on MLP stuff, all my knowledge on the subject being gained entirely through cultural osmosis, so I might be wrong on both: including the existing cutie_mark_crusaders tag in this, and specifically not including the aliased mane_six tag so a more horsepilled individual may need to chime in to correct me, in a previous discussion it was brought up that a CMCs tag like this could theoretically work. also in regards to the CMCs, some stuff would definitely need to be hammered out, specifically the fact that what I see as their notable branding symbol is something that's printed directly onto the characters at all times after a certain point in the series, and I'm not sure how we should deal with that.
I have created three sets to show what the tags would look like if this change was implemented set:dba_sqsis, set:dba_oth, and set:dba_deepc. (only the Splatoon groups because, well, 3000 results, buh. and my aforementioned uncertainty around this group.)
