I wanted to make implications for the tag wearing eyewear but I wasn't sure if wearing eyewear would be considered a bloat tag since there are already some tags for specific eyewear (ex: wearing glasses, wearing sunglasses). Should I go ahead with it or maybe focus on the specific eyewear?

To be honest, I initially didn't see the use of wearing_glasses (and other wearing_* tags) when we don't tag wearing_shirt or wearing_pants, but topic #38638 seem to explain why.
In that case, it should be fine to lump everything under one umbrella tag for easy searching/blacklisting.

the diffrence with eyewear and clothes is that 1) there's two ways for them to be on a character resting on a character's forehead (<x>_on_head) and in active use (wearing_<x>) and 2) they don't contribute to a character's clothed-ness like pieces of clothing do.
