Topic: Pubes vs crotch tuft

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

crotch tuft
"this tag is used to describe extra fur around the genitals which is of similar color and/or texture to the rest of their natural fur."

pubes
"this tag is used to describe extra hair around the genitals. Generally, this hair is either a different color, or of a different quality than the rest of the fur on the character's body, though often both are true."

Also pubes
"For search and/or blacklist purposes, pubes and crotch_tuft can be tagged together."

So... I don't get it, how could both tags apply to the same situation? Initially I thought crotch tuft should imply pubes, but maybe I'm missing something.

No, both tags can exist together but you don't imply them together.

Crotch_tuft is a type of tuft (either fur_tuft or feather_tuft) located on the crotch. It is typically just a raised patch of fur that does not visually stand out (i.e., different colour or texture) from the rest of the body. They are not inherently considered as pubes.

On the other hand, pubes are typically hair or fur on the crotch/genitals.

If pubes are depicted on a furred character, it is normally of a different colour or texture from the rest of the body. In this case, it can also be tagged with crotch_tuft.
