fellatio doesn't imply penis_in_mouth/oral_penetration because it's possible for the penis to not be in the mouth when being pleasured by it. The only difference between fellatio and irrumatio is who's the "active" participant, so I think the same issues would apply.

The meaning of irrumatio is "thrusting one's penis into another's mouth/throat" so I don't think it has the same issues

How would a penis be thrusted into a mouth without being in the mouth?

Seems like a penis is necessarily in someone's mouth, unlike fellatio.

Yeah the tag's usage is pretty clear and unambiguous.

Isn't this request somewhat ambiguous because 'fellatio' and 'irrumatio' _can_ each fulfill the requirement for "penis in mouth"?

Per @watsit, a fellator can excite orally _without_ a penis in mouth or excite orally _with_ a penis in mouth: Both conditions can apply to 'fellatio'.

'irrumatio', on the other hand, is akin to "face fucking," i.e. the penetrator is the "active" participant. This is not the same as 'fellatio'.

That is why you need to divide 'fellatio' and 'irrumatio'; otherwise, each can fulfill the condition for "penis in mouth", and so the act becomes "blurred" or "ambiguous" for what is actually happening.

I think this is what others are saying: 'irrumatio' should likely remain as-is because a "penis in mouth" is a *requirement* of the act, but I want to raise 'irrumatio' also requires "active" sex on behalf of the penetrator (raises all sorts of interesting ideas: Can females commit 'irrumatio' via strap-on?).

Irrumatio is a specialty niche tag that further restricts and defines the scenario. Granted fellatio is a similarly built term, but it's also much more open-ended in its definition and practicality.

I think this implication is fair because the definition of the former literally matches the latter.

Does sucking a strap-on count as fellatio? If so, then I wouldn't be totally comfortable with irrumatio implying penis in mouth. If not, then I'm fine with that implication and I think the implication between irrumatio and face_fucking should be removed, or perhaps reversed.

no. dildo_fellatio is a seperate tag, and I would thing strap-ons would be counted in that.
