Topic: What is "educational comments"?

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

That would seem to be the case, but:

  • the usage of this tag is extremely low
  • in at least one case (post #3513201) it's incorrectly copied from a parent post.
  • in at least one case (post #3434764) the bar seems to be really low.

At the same time, the latter two points are already true for lol comments, so whatever.

I wonder if it would be acceptable to require citations for this kind of stuff, I could probably make up some arcane bullshit about life in Austria and somebody might believe it enough to add educational_comments.

I did think of that, but this site's administration is overloaded enough without adding more burdens. I considered adding a disclaimer to the wiki page stating that comments are not checked for veracity, but that's little more than a fig leaf.

Given how infrequently the tag is used, would you suggest removing it outright?

I'd rather we aliased away all tags about comments, all of them are subjective and frequently misapplied (see lol comments on any post with drama, where the tag explicitly does not apply)

What should they be aliased to?
