Topic: Confused about my animation that was deleted "Does not meet minimum quality standards (Render)"

Posted under General

Hello, first time poster.
I want to start posting my work on e621.net, but one of the animation I posted (5490904, you can still check the source) was deleted with the reason "Does not meet minimum quality standards (Render)"
The "render" part is a bit confusing, because the quality of the render wasn't bad in my opinion. I mean, it's SFM, so it doesn't look the best, but not bad enough to be deleted I think.

I have another animation, that wasn't deleted, and the only difference is render quality betwteen the two is that I used different methods to convert them to .webm

I would have loved to ask the person who deleted my animation personally, but their profile says they don't respond, and I don't want to bother an admin for such a small bother.

Thoughts on the situation ?

You can approach the e621 Discord helpdesk and ask for advice.

According to a comment there by an admin:

  • ...Other quality issues are likely to be bigger factors. Render quality is one. If the render is made with too few samples, you might end up with excessive noise in the final result. Excessively noisy renders tend to be deleted. If you're using Source Filmmaker, one common issue in particular is ambient occlusion noise, which can be fixed by changing a single setting if I remember correctly. Many posts get deleted for this, but it's a really simple fix, so it's not really excusable.
