Topic: Why does a post not meet minimum quality standards (artistic)

Posted under General

Hi! I've had post https://e621.net/posts/5475337 flagged/deleted for not meeting minimum quality standards (artistic). I couldn't find a very clear reason on why that was on reading the wiki pages for flag for deletion and upload guidelines. It was a short loop I made while learning 3D so it was kinda crude but I've definitely seen worse stuff here :p

I'm wondering if there are more specific guidelines for artistic standards that posts are supposed to adhere to. Or I guess if anyone else has had a similar experience.

It would help infinitely if you had shared a link to the animation so that people could see what it was before it got deleted.

Regardless, please refer to the pinned topic #23578 to understand the various reasons why posts get deleted (including not meeting minimal artistic standards).
If you want further clarification on a specific post that got deleted, the usual procedure is to contact the janitor or staff that removed it in the first place and ask for them to explain.

In your case, however, it got deleted by @Mario, one of our janitors that handles a lot of animated posts.
They will not respond to DMs, so you will have to approach the head admin @NotMeNotYou to get help or clarification on your deleted post.

@TheGreatWolfgang thanks! Honestly, it hadn't even crossed my mind that the post could be flagged, so I don't actually have the original file on my computer anymore :p

If you need to you can ask one of the staff members to get the file for you, I did that with one of my deleted posts because I had lost the file when my computer was stolen.
