Topic: Request for Deletion of My Uploaded Artwork (Artist Doesn't Allow Posting)

Posted under General

I mistakenly uploaded some artwork from an artist who does not allow their work to be posted on e621. They are not listed on the DNP list, so I was unaware of their policy at the time.

I sincerely apologize for the mistake. Here is a tweet from the artist confirming their stance:

Could a moderator please delete the uploads? Thank you!

The artist needs to request a takedown, "do not repost" and tweets like that are not valid deletion reasons

The artist has explicitly stated that they do not want their artwork to appear on e621. Even though they are not on the DNP list, I believe their wishes should be respected.

It's takedowns or nothing. That's how it works.

Even if they posted on a journal/tweet/profile bio not to repost anything, they would still have to come personally to request for a takedown.
This is because we would need to verify that they actually are the artist and their wishes are placed on the record (that cannot edited or deleted like from a simple tweet).

Next time, you should make an effort to actually ask the artists you repost artwork from, even if it is not compulsory for uploading.
The result of this lack of courtesy is what you see now and is probably the #1 cause of artists requesting to be placed on the DNP list.

Alright, I understand. It's truly unfortunate.😭😭
