There are separate tags for seam_(sewing) and stitch_(sewing), each with a thousand or two posts. Both also have a lot of variants aliased to them, but these two tags aren't aliased to one another as far as I know. Which poses the question: if they're separate, what's the difference?
Stitching means to use repeated thread patterns to form a seam. A seam is a line of stitches meant to join two pieces of fabric. They're pretty interchangeable at first glance, and it feels like they should be grouped together. It can't even be that "stitch" is also meant to tag surgical stitches because stitch_(surgical) is its own thing.
Is it that "seam" is machine-made and orderly whereas "stitch" is more for repairs? I could use an insight on the logic, as it's a little too acute to get right.
