Depends on the art given. I can't say I really have a preference in what your asking, not properly. I have a few images I've been seeking out that don't seem to exist, and there are artists that I like.
Apart from them there are artists that make particularly beautiful or well composition art. There are writers whose writing really brings you into the story, witnessing it as though you were there. Good music that tells a story without lyrics, or makes excellent use of music to back up the story in the lyrics.

I found my TL:DR!
Style over substance, if it isn't stylish, I couldn't care about the substance.

But I guess i don't really have a point to work up to except that I, myself, cannot find myself having a preference between animal-eared characters, humans, full anthros, futas etc.
So long as the art is rather good in its way.

Edit: Since I didn't really answer the question I'll give you this instead. I hate repetition in art. It comes off to me as lazy and uninspired. Take this artist for example, lawkie. I don't like their art, entirely because when I went to try and find the proper source for an image posted here on e6, I found that their gallery was entirely full of yhcs to the point where I couldn't notice anything original. The style became obtrusive and I gave up looking for the image's source in the mountain of copies. No wonder the original poster linked the artist's FA rather than the specific post...

Edit 2: I remember my original post before I got poetic and went to do something else. I've seen too many messy (male human/humanoid) (female anthro)s too think of one I'd prefer to think about off the top of my head...
Final answer, do not give me (male human/humanoid) x (female anthro).
Give me anything else. Give me gay art, give me pegging, give me bestiality. Do not give me (male human/humanoid) x (female anthro) (duo) unless it's a good one.

Good art can indeed transcend preferences.

It is "a thing" but I've admittedly seen more art with humans and catgirls/catboys (as opposed to anthros).
