Topic: *_dominating_* tags that mix categories

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

The tags listed below mix gender and body type. I think that makes them too vague.
On the other hand, there are probably people who find them useful, because they get off to e.g. anthros of any gender dominating males of any body type.
And who feel that tag combinations return too many false positives.
Then again, not many posts have these tags, so they're not very useful for searching.

Is there a consensus on whether these tags should be used at all?
(I remember someone adding one to an upload of mine, but I can't find it anymore.)

anthro_dominating_male
feral_dominating_male
feral_dominating_female
male_dominating_anthro
male_dominating_humanoid
female_dominating_human
anthro_dominating_female
male_dominating_human
female_dominating_anthro
gynomorph_dominating_anthro
human_dominating_gynomorph
humanoid_dominating_male
anthro_dominating_gynomorph

On a side note, I think sperm_dominating_ovum is hilarious.

Did you know you can surround the text with

[[square brackets]]

to link to their wiki? (and {{}} curly to search)

And we are in the process to removing gender verbing form

That's good to know.

Like female_dominating_male ?
Why would you remove that?

See topic #43680 and topic #43775 for discussion about removing them

Those topics are nearly a year old and the BURs in them don't have many votes. Is there still ongoing discussion?

I agree that mixed-category tags don't make a lot of sense, though the linked BURs also advocate removal of form_verbing_form tags, which I don't fully agree with.

I agree that mixed-category tags don't make a lot of sense, though the linked BURs also advocate removal of form_verbing_form tags, which I don't fully agree with.

It is typical for "contentious" requests/BURs to be stuck in limbo when no clear majority or consensus could be reached.
In which case, it would be stuck as is until it gets more votes from users, revived again due to emerging problems with the tags, final decision placed by an admin (though not always, since they may just simply leave a comment/vote), or until it gets purged after an extended period of inactivity (i.e., topic #38484).

Discussions are always ongoing until either the BURs are passed/rejected or new arguments have been made that revives the discussion once more.
You are welcome to put your vote in on them and voice your objection on the specific tags you wish to keep.
