Topic: there should be an advertisement tag

Posted under General

there should be a tag along the lines of "advertisement" or something for posts that direct viewers to other sites where they have to pay/subscribe. Like I get that artists need to be paid for their work, but i frequently end up thinking it would be nice to be able to filter out all the the posts that are like "for the rest of this comic/imageset/animation subscribe to my patreon"

We have advertisement and full_version_at_paywall/better_version_at_paywall.
Alternatively, you may also include censored, uncensored_version_at_paywall, or uncensored_version_at_source.

Note that advertisement should really only be tagged on posts where the image/animation itself is advertising the creator's pay stuff, not posts that look fine on their own and only have a description or something mentioning the creator's pay stuff.

Actually the advertisement tag is supposed to be used for images where there is an advertisement inside the image as part of the image, kind of like if the premise of the image was a fortnite character drinking a fake sports beverage, it's an 'advertisement'. But I do agree that paywall endorsement should be somethin' that people can put on their blacklist.

Not what the wiki page says. Any kind of advertisement counts.
