I'd be worried about people trying to use it as a color_species rather than the actual genus. Might be a time the scientific name is better.

One would think so, but I’m not seeing any mistags… but I mean, it can be fixed at any time if it becomes a problem. It is a very common and consequently fairly well-known species of snake, but nobody who is familiar with it would recognize it by the name of "Opheodrys", reducing discoverability of the tag, so this should only be disambiguated if the situation became dire, I think.
