probably because "in ass" sounds better, but "butt" as a tag is less crass
So when it works better we go with ass, else butt

I’m still not sure why it’s not *_in_anus. Every time I read this tag, I think of hot dogging. Doesn’t seem like people confuse the tags that often, but still. We use anus and butt for two different things, and the tag this implies isn’t ass_penetration, so… I dunno. It doesn’t really matter, but it feels weirdly inconsistent.

Edit: also, like, plenty of characters have an anus without a butt, but this tag is still used for them. Referring to anal penetration on a character without a butt as penis_in_ass just feels entirely wrong to me.
