Topic: (Solved) Should I ticket these users for 'tag vandalism'? What can I do here?

Posted under General

Hello.

So, a while ago I created a new tag for artwork related to a story from Wattpad, the tag and story being a_man_in_a_beasts_world from GhillieCamo. I wrote a description for it on the wiki and set its type to copyright since stories on Wattpad are copyrighted.

Problem is I've just noticed that a couple of users have been constantly changing the tag to general (see the tag changes history for evidence) while another good samaritan changed it back to copyright, going back and fort at it for months.
Add to this that one of said users created a tag for another Wattpad story (which I believe is rival to this one due to some bad water between the authors), set that story's tag to copyright while changing this one to general (refer to this as ironic proof) and has almost only uploaded artwork about said story here (same as the other user).

This gets a little complicated since the story itself and its description saying it was copyrighted got nuked from GhillieCamo's account and they're still working to bring it back, so I can't really give a link to say "see, copyrighted".

This is not a witch hunt. I don't want anyone going around to hit these two with a rolled newspaper, I just need directions on how to handle it.
Do I message a moderator? Do I create a ticket/report said users? Should a janitor lock the tag to copyright instead?

FWIW, the "Copyright" category isn't strictly for copyrights, but can also be used to indicate a shared setting or theme for posts. There needn't be proof or some author statement that the work is copyrighted for a copyright tag to apply to it.

If the tag keeps getting changed back and forth between Copyright and General, report the wiki page (click on the Report link in the wiki page header) and explain the issue in the Reason field, then a moderator will take a look and make a judgement when they're able. What you shouldn't do is engage in tag or wiki edit wars; if it keeps getting changed back after you try to change it, the appropriate thing to do is stop trying to change it and send a report telling a moderator what's going on, so they can take the necessary action to fix it.
