Mostly used by a few dedicated users. I don't think we want to set a precedent for gendered body parts, so this is probably best aliased to male so it doesn't clog up the auto-complete.

Would this have been better reversed? I would think it'd get used on images where only feet are visible.

The alias hasn't had that much effect, at most 8 posts discrepancy in all

I agree. Gendered feet is not necessary.
