Topic: Tag alias: naive -> innocence

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The tag alias #74897 naive -> innocence is pending approval.

Reason: These mean effectively the same thing, and a glance through the tags shows they are used mostly interchangeably.

Currently neither one has a wiki page. I think a wiki page would be a prudent addition, given that like all emotion tags they are broad and subjective. Currently, the tags seem to be used overly broadly.

In which case, would it be of benefit to simply make them invalid, as we have done with tags like cute?

I thought naive was for displaying a lack of sexual knowledge, such as thinking cum is "white pee", not knowing what a sex toy is used for, or not understanding the point after someone asks them to pose naked for a camera. Maybe it should be renamed to sexually_naive? Innocence, similar to naive, seems to be a mostly dialogue-based tag (actually, innocence might be more like 50% dialogue-based tagging), though its tagging seems messier and more subjective.

Naive could also mean "(of a person or action) showing a lack of experience, wisdom, or judgement."
Such as post #3460040, albeit not defined or tagged as such yet.

There's oblivious, but iirc thats only for a character not recognizing romantic/sexual advances being made to them.

Edit: the wiki says its for generally being unaware of what's happening, so it would be nice if there was a tag for specifically what was described before. As for oblivious, it's useful and probably used correctly often to where it should be kept.

Looking at it, people use it for anytime a character is unaware of something. But there are posts with examples of something being painfully obvious/absurd to comedic value which should also have its own tag I think.

I agree that rename would be wise, given that this is a porn archive and thus naive is overwhelmingly used in a sexual context.

The question still remains if innocence is meaningfully distinct.

There is oblivious_sexualization, which I believe is used for the situation you describe. Although again, I have to wonder if "oblivious sexualization" is meaningfully different from "sexually naive".
