Topic: The FA feature request I thought would never happen

Posted under Off Topic

Funny that it took them so long to implement it.
It's unlikely to work well due to FA's non-existent tagging requirements, but it's better than nothing.

d'ya think that they're ever going to figure out user name changing?

Before or after implementing username histories?

Now they actually need to enforce it. Tried it and it works as intended but stuff still gets through due to uploaders either not tagging correctly or don't bother tagging at all.

So while it is a step in the right direction, they gotta proceed to the next steps

Only took...

What, twenty years? To do it worse than any other site that did it on launch... pfftahaha.

Would be nice if FA would open up tagging like e6

All of these would mean nothing if there is no strict enforcement to ensure accurate submission tagging.
Not that submitting tickets would matter anyway since their whole moderation team is understaffed.

I have made a report in the past before where an artist was copy-pasting the exact same set of completely unrelated tags to their submissions (e.g., tagging "adopt adoptable character design wolf sale ych fur fluffy" on a commissioned artwork of a western_dragon).
And the reply I got from them was:

I have reviewed your ticket and determined that the content reported does not violate our rules at this time. Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention and being a part of our community!

If you have any issues in the future, please open a new Trouble Ticket so that we may assist you.

[system]: Closing the ticket.

I'd say let them keep it that way

Works great on Inkbunny. Then again, IB's staff didn't come out of the lead mines.

Honestly, it's kinda just... baffling at this point they even bothered? It seems more like an excuse to ditch support for the classic theme than an actual feature, given FA doesn't enforce anything (I've personally reported on-model cub characters and blatant, and hilariously poor, mass art theft/scams and gotten told there's no rule violation).
I guess if you feel like guessing every single permutation of anal_vore anal-vore analvore assvore ass_vore ass-vore anusvore anus_vore anus-vore, assuming an artist even bothers using the tags at all, you might see something vaguely resembling functionality. There's no standardisation or even tag counts, autocomplete, or popularity scoring so it's pure and raw guesswork and as-you-see-it adding of random shit people come up with, including new and fun mispellings.
