Hello and happy new year, 2025 has come and with it a new wave of public domain content. There seems to be a lot of confusion about the status and uploading of these videos so I felt I'd put together a list of content eligible to be uploaded as of January 1st, 2025. Please keep in mind we're operating by United States rules here, so as of Jan 1st, 2025 previously copyrighted material published prior to Jan 1st, 1930 is now considered public domain in the United States. Though some media published after the Jan 1st, 1930 cut off date may have recently entered the public domain due to other circumstances (ex. if it has been over 70 years since an artist's passing, their works would now fall into the public domain).

If you would like to help upload these that would be welcome, but please keep in mind quality standards still apply even with antiques such as these, if the highest quality version can't be uploaded it's better to re-encode it in the highest quality that can be uploaded rather than going with a lower-quality transfer you found online. And please be wary of uploading your own DVD/Blu-ray/etc rips, it's better to post things that were already publicly available. Additionally many videos can be anamorphic, which would need to be corrected as e621 does not currently support anamorphic video.

If I missed anything, please don't be afraid to comment it below along with proof that it is public domain and I will add it to the list. As it is still relatively early and I'm sure there's still more that will be added as the year goes on.

Everything I've listed would likely meet site relevance standards & is known to have some surviving copies in cirulation.
