Topic: [APPROVED] Tag alias: tdm -> chibi

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The tag alias #67557 tdm -> chibi has been approved.

Reason: 3-letter acronym tag with a barebones wiki, that seems to be largely indistinguishable from just chibi.

"This refers to mascot-like characters (think along the lines of Hello Kitty) with extremely low head-to-body proportions, frequently hovering around 1:1, as such as their head makes up roughly 50% of their height."

Is this not just chibi? I'd describe most chibi characters this way.

If not aliased to chibi, it needs a better name than just "tdm".

EDIT: The tag alias tdm -> chibi (forum #394206) has been approved by @slyroon.

Wiki says "Abbreviated from 低等身デフォルメマスコット ("teitoushin deformed mascot", where "teitoushin" is "low head-to-body ratio")."

...Which seems to have no use outside of this site and being the title to a single series of doujinshi. Even in Japanese it mostly just brings up said doujin series and its characters.

when searching Google for "teitoushin deformed mascot" all I'm getting is our wiki and a few 2 Channel threads and archived 4chan threads with the OP literally just being the exact same thing as our wiki.

and I'm getting no relevant hits for any of the variations on any weeb-based boorus and other sites.

Should just be aliased to invalid. We really don't use three letter tags as acronyms for something.

Can't make the BUR until the alias is rejected.
