I believe it's a snappier name for the tag, as well as less likely to be misclicked by someone searching for or tagging an image that has tight pants in it but doesn't depict someone unable to actually properly wear a pair of pants because it can't contain their bulge

I don't believe we need to change the tag to Japanese just to make it "snappier".
We are also an English-centric site, so literally nobody would know what meme you are referring to if it is in Japanese.

Searching for "Gyumu" or "ギュム" on Google also yields zero results of that meme.
Not to mention, the first result gives an entirely different context for the word.

"Snappier" means little if virtually no user knows what it means. When we have two synonymous tags, we should look to see which one is more understandable for the concept involved, not which one is snappier.

At the same time, I can understand the vagueness of "tight_pants_(meme)", since tight pants on their own aren't a meme and it would be very easy to infer a tag name like that for any kind of meme-ish image involving tight pants, rather than the specific pose and framing this current meme entails.
