Topic: [REJECTED] Tag alias: partially_inside -> prey_partially_inside

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The tag alias #61437 partially_inside -> prey_partially_inside has been rejected.

Reason: The tag "partially_inside" means a prey is partially inside a pred in a vore scenario.
Having just "partially_inside" for tag name is confusing because some people could think "penis partially in a pussy" which is not the intended use for the tag. So we need to make the tag clearer.

The previous name of "partially_inside" was partial_vore, which wasn't clear enough for some people. His content has been move to "partially_inside".
The new name "partially_inside" has also comprehension issues, which even discourage to add "vore" to it : https://e621.net/forum_topics/36784
So we need to move the content to something clearer like "prey_partially_inside". With that people would know that we are talking about vore content of a prey being partially inside a pred.

EDIT: The tag alias partially_inside -> prey_partially_inside (forum #358371) has been rejected by @Millcore.

Partially_inside is a super vague name, I agree - however I think the better solution would be a mass update rather than an alias.

I agree, partially_inside is not a great tag name, it's far too vague. Partial_vore is also too vague because what is "partial" vore? Vore is arguably the whole process, not everyone will agree on what counts or doesn't count under "partial" vore.

partial_vore can be, and was, confused with a character with their head in another character's mouth without any implication that they're going to be eaten, or a character using another character as a living_insertion but isn't "anally voring" them or unbirthing them (e.g. it's shown explicitly that they're being thrust in and out of the orifice). The associated tags of almost fully inside and prey fully inside are badly named too. The latter is just redundant and far more work than its worth to tag all of the relevant posts — a majority of vore posts feature a prey "fully inside".

In my opinion it's better to have more specific tags, rather than a very subjective, vaguely named tag alone standing in for all scenarios where a character is partially inside of an orifice of another character.

some "partial vore/inside" tags

For oral_vore:

  • head in mouth - character's head is the only thing in the pred's mouth, either their body is outside of the other character, or their body is mostly within the other character's throat
  • body in mouth - character is at least half inside of the mouth of another, upper body or lower body (however there are non-vore contexts for this tag as well)
  • in mouth - a character fully encapsulated by another's mouth, usually in cases of extreme size difference, also on tongue (usually involves the character reclining or sitting on the tongue)
  • in throat - the character is partially or fully visibly inside of the esophagus
  • head first, feet first - direction character is being swallowed

Combining these tags should get you a vast array of different partially_inside/partial_vore scenarios, without lumping them all together, they're more specific and describe "how far inside" a character is.

some suggested tags for other types of vore (there aren't too many entries under these tags yet):

head first and feet first would count here as well

I wish there were some more tags that would describe a character's hand, face, or tail sticking out of a mouth (or other orifice), but I can't think of a good tag name for the concept hand_sticking_out_of_mouth?looking_out_of_anus? It's clunky.

Prey partially inside could work as an umbrella tag but it's still vague, considering the inside tag alone means indoors, it's better than partial_vore or partially_inside in any case.

I agree for a mass update. But I don't know how mass update work and if I have the right to do one or ask for one.

Anyone can request a mass update. All you would need to do is request a BUR. Under the Script box, there's Help which, when pressed, gives a pop-up with various commands, one of which is "update aaa -> bbb. Copy and paste that into the Script box, replace aaa with the tag you want to update and bbb with the tag you want to update it to. Add in a reason, put this thread's ID number in the Forum topic box if you'd like to attach it to this thread, add in a title (even if it's being put into another thread), and submit.
