Topic: [REJECTED] Tag implication: ridley -> space_dragon_(metroid)

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

we don't imply characters to species because characters can be drawn as an alternate_species, could be being cosplayed as by some other random species and not get tagged, or otherwise has a lack of sufficient visual information to tag the species (only part of them is in view, for example). e6 uses TWYS to tag species, they need to sufficiently look like the species in order for it to be tagged; implications cause tag_X to always get tagged tag_Y, so this can cause mistags if any of those situations occur.

Fair enough. Time to go out manually fixing a buncha posts then, nbd
However, in the event of cosplay, would you not tag the species being dressed up as?

Most of the time I wouldn't, besides when the character is the species so to speak (e.g. a costume of a Pokemon).

From what I can tell from searching the cosplay tag, it seems that at least some people do.
