Topic: [APPROVED] Tag alias: dante_(elcondedeleon) -> maite_(elcondedeleon)

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The tag alias #61112 dante_(elcondedeleon) -> maite_(elcondedeleon) has been approved.

Reason: The person for whom Dante is the fursona has recently come out as trans, and has thus changed her name to Maite. Would this be the correct avenue for requesting such a change in the character tag?

EDIT: The tag alias dante_(elcondedeleon) -> maite_(elcondedeleon) (forum #356086) has been approved by @gattonero2001.

This is the correct avenue for such a request, yes. However, we want "proof": a link to an FA bio or tweet or something by an authoritative source (the artist, commissioner, character owner etc) that shows that your claim is true. The admins can search for this on their own, but it takes them a while and their time is valuable. So unsourced requests may get rejected.

Regardless:
Evidence of name change of creator: The most recent journal entry by elcondedeleon of FA is signed "Maite" unlike older journal entries like this one signed "Dante".
Evidence that the character's name has also been changed: The most recent post in elcondedeleon of FA's gallery is tagged with "Maite" unlike older posts like this one tagged with "Dante".

Edit: As faucet notes, it appears from the gallery structure that the commissioner may be keeping these characters separate.

This definitely checks out, thanks for the research MatrixMash!

Initially I voted this up, but upon looking at the character owner's gallery I noticed that she has separated the art for Maite and Dante into separate folders, see the side panel on this page. I wonder if we should instead do the same and treat Dante and Maite as two different characters, dante_(elcondedeleon) and maite_(elcondedeleon). Elcondedeleon has technically never stated they are both the same character either, we're just making that assumption based on them looking very similar.

Ah, I see. I understand! I apologize, I know her personally so I approached this without understanding it may still be ambiguous from the outside. I let Maite know to at least make it clear that she indeed intends for them to be the same character, just that the name has changed. She said she will post a new journal to make it unequivocally clear, to all and I will provide the link here as proof as soon as she has done so. Thanks for your help!

Hello again, all. Maite has recently uploaded a new journal to her page so as to clarify a few things from the previous entry, in particular that Dante and Maite are one and the same character, but now going under the latter for her new name. I hope this helps :)
