Topic: [REJECTED] Tag alias: school_uniform -> serafuku

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The tag alias #60493 school_uniform -> serafuku has been rejected.

Reason: Seifuku, which is short for Sailor Fuku (Serafuku), is aliased to school uniform, despite being listed in the wiki page for serafuku as another word for it.
Sorry for the misdirection, but I don't know how to request a re-alias. The system doesn't seem to allow it.

EDIT: The tag alias school_uniform -> serafuku (forum #353684) has been rejected by @gattonero2001.

You're saying what you actually want is to have seifuku aliased to serafuku rather than to school_uniform, right?
The first step would be to create a BUR with script unalias seifuku -> school_uniform. Then either another BUR with script alias seifuku -> serafuku, or just request an alias the usual way. I think it has to be done in two separate steps but I'm not sure.
Also, you may need to reject this request (Commands: Reject) before you can create the BUR. Don't hide this thread.

...On that note, shouldn't japanese_school_uniform imply school_uniform rather than just clothing?
...Also, what about fuku?

edit: wait there's already a conflicting BUR, because of course there is

1. Not all school uniforms are fuku.

2. The wiki says the exact opposite of what you think it does. "Seifuku simply means school uniform, and can apply to any Japanese school uniform." while serafuku is specifically a female school uniform.

Seifuku does not mean school uniform. It is quite literally short for Serafuku. A simple google search will reveal this. A sera fuku (not one word btw) is also not just a female school uniform. It is a Sailor (sera) Uniform (fuku). The wiki is wrong, and makes searching for the tag a pain. Seifuku has been the accepted word for so long that searching for "sera fuku" on google doesn't even get good results. Nobody who speaks english is going to use it.

Personally I would like to change the "serafuku" tag to "seifuku", since seifuku is the far more recognized term, and sera fuku is two words, not one.
