Reason: Alias the plural to the singular. The plural is more popular - 11 to 8 - but if you have amphorae, you have at least one amphora. I'm pretty sure both describe the same object - a tall vase of Greek or Roman design.

Also, it makes me feel classy AF to file a request for a Latin plural. :D
