Donovan literally explained why, with an example. And it's not against any rules or unusual at all.

..because it's actively being cleaned up, yes

That isn't a valid reasoning for not aliasing it away, in fact it's just about the opposite
The fact that we're having to take time out of our day to fix this when it could just be aliased away
