Topic: [APPROVED] Tag alias: mirage -> mirage_(disambiguation)

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The tag alias #59454 mirage -> mirage_(disambiguation) has been approved.

Reason: "Mirage" can refer to quite a number of things, including characters from Aladdin, Warframe, Transformers, and Apex Legends, or a fighter jet, or even the optical phenomenon.

There were previously six images tagged mirage, but I manually fixed five of them; I'm not sure what to do with the sixth. Every so often, a post gets tagged with a bare mirage, and then gets changed to a more specific tag, usually a character .

Creating this alias was brought up in a thread from 2017, but as far as I can tell, it was never formally proposed or accepted. There was previously a mirage_(disambiguation) tag on this post, but it seems to have been there since the beginning, so I'm not sure where it came from.

This alias may clash with one entry in a proposed BUR, namely #3026 , which proposes invalidating mirage_(disambiguation) altogether.

EDIT: The tag alias mirage -> mirage_(disambiguation) (forum #350839) has been approved by @gattonero2001.

You should also create a list in the disambiguation entry on Wiki when you create disambiguation requests. ;)

that’s my bur you’re talking about! and no, it wouldn’t clash. disambiguation tags are supposed to be invalid, so taggers notice them and know to remove them.

Sweet, that is looking good - thanks!
There's was even a Mirage comicsstudios, right? But I think it's highly unlikely we'll see too many examples. Sort of joking because we certainly shouldn't see the original comic here, but fanart of the original TMNT is not tagged with Mirage ComicsStudios copyright.

:edit: Fixed it for factual accuracy. XD

I removed the tag from the one image that still had it. It was pretty obvious what had happened, between the fact that one of the character owners was called "Dream Mirage", the generally woeful state of the uploader's tagging and all four characters already being tagged.
