Why? I see it's been replaced by an implication, but nobody either downvoted the alias or wrote a comment explaining why they think these are distinct concepts, or what an "inflatable" that is not also a "floatie" might look like.

If the aim is simply to have an umbrella tag for inflatable objects that are not living_inflatables, it's severely undermined by the more numerous tags beach_ball and inner_tube implying inflatable directly instead.
