I might have jumped the gun. Just found the artist on here as Hoatzin Hooves. Maybe it's better to ask them?

Yup, jolly confirmed they'd like to be called JollyJersey on here.

Artist putting "Jolly_Jersey" on most of their art at FA,
so aliasing to jollyjersey seems ok (NOT great, but ok)

or at the very least NOT aliasing TO Hoatzin Hooves.

JollyJersey or Jolly-Jersey work for me. I was prioritising the FA name above all else. The artist seems to be in the process of rebranding. Hoatzin Hooves was originally created as a moniker for Jolly's NSFW portfolio but quickly retired.

After asking the artist themselves it was made clear that "JollyJersey" was the preferred tag to go on here. No other variant.
