Reason: If Sonic is not a werehog, he's not Sonic the Werehog.

There's an old thread #9681 about this, but I don't think they allowed voting.

character tags should never imply species tags because alternate_species exists

I'm afraid this isn't going to work. Although that old thread suggests the implication, we've refined our tagging philosophy in the ten years since then. We don't implicate characters to species as they can be portrayed as an alternate species or someone not their species could be cosplaying as them.
