If Narinder was his name as unimprisoned, I'd prefer to see that used as his follower name and kept separate, so that it stops being spoiled.

Every mention of him by other characters in the game and in promos referred to him as "The One Who Waits". It's not until Shamura brought it up in at least two encounters late into the game that his name was revealed to us. Afterwards it was never mentioned again. Even after you defeat Narinder/The One Who Waits at the final boss battle into becoming a follower his name still presets to "The One Who Waits".

This seems kind of like a Voldemort situation where uttering his name has become forbidden, seen as cursed or has been suppressed by the Old Faith for so long that probably few or no one left alive except for the immortal Bishops themselves still remembers his real name in the setting. "The One Who Waits" is basically Narinder's version of "He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named" in a way.

I'd say we make "Narinder" into an alias of "The One Who Waits" primarily because of its predominance and presence in the game by comparison and for spoiler reasons. Most people wouldn't be privy of this information unless they're involved in the fandom or have played the game long enough to get to that revelation point. It's like a little lore reward for players who have played that far into the game but otherwise has (currently) no worthwhile game or story effects other than an interesting tidbit of trivia probably to entice lore junkies to speculate and as a hook for a potential expansion or prequel/sequel should there be one.
