Topic: Yordles and the implication of fur

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

I apologize if I've mis-categorized this post.
I noticed that there are a lot of cases where the "yordle" tag is accompanied by the "not_furry" tag.
As of the Yordle Unification Pass development project that Riot did to merge Medglings and Yordles in lore, Riot has explicitly stated that even the female Yordles that were once simply blue/purple-skinned "Medglings" are now covered in a thin layer of peach fuzz at the very least.
This can be seen in all official artwork of the previously Medgling Yordles, and should imply fur, correct?
Yordles, especially the female ones, are often drawn smoothly. Many furry characters are drawn or rendered smoothly, especially in 3D, but we do not typically imply "not_furry" to those cases.
Should "yordle" imply fur?
What about when someone takes an obviously and entirely furred Yordle and still tags them as "not_furry", is it reasonable to edit the tags on those images?

No, not_furry is correct.

Note that furry refers to the fandom, not to actual fur. For example, furless animals such as birds and reptiles still count as 'furry'.

Additionally, fur does not get tagged if you can't see it.

e6 uses a Tag What You See policy, so Riot's statements about yordles are irrelevant. Each post should be tagged based on what can be seen in that post. If there is no evidence of fur or other animal features then the post should be tagged not_furry, even if that character is typically depicted with furry features. If a character is drawn with fur then it should not be tagged not_furry, even if that character is typically depicted without furry features.

In the case of yordles, taggers sometimes miss fur on the ears, and you can correct mistags.

I appreciate the clarification.
Since this is the case, is there any particular reason that most 3D media on here, where characters are typically furry ones, but are a simple flat color texture for ease of modeling and animation, would NOT recieve the "not_furry" tag?
Take say, the overwgelming majority of pony content for instance. It is rare that fur is actually rendered visible, and they tend to be smooth and even shiny in appearance.
The ponies are likewise covered in a thin layer of fur, but are NEVER given that tag.

You completely skipped over the part that mentions "other animal features". Again...

It isn't that I skipped over it, I think I'm just misunderstanding because I tend to think of obscenley large and animalistic ears as "other animal features".
I'm just wanting to make sure I get clarification before I make any kind of tag edits to posts.

This depends on the depiction, as pointed ears are not necessarily furry.

This is, by TWYS, humanoid_pointy_ears.
It's kind of just something that has to be judged on a case-by-case basis.
