Topic: [APPROVED] Tag alias: left_handed -> left-handed

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

These feels like one of those tags that exist but don't really have any outstanding purpose. How can one be certain a character left handed, simply because something is held in a left hand? Why is it relevant which hand something is held in?

Also judging by the wiki and post count this submission is backwards.

what if someone is into hand jobs, but only when the left hand is used?

how would you know they're left handed and not just inviting a stranger to the party?

A cursory glance at the tag implies a lot of this involves left-handed writers/gun-people. Things like guns and guitars are strictly designed for/to favor right-handed/right-eye dominant users, so those situations tend to be the obvious takeaway.

It’s an extremely niche tag, but left handedness can be/still is relatively uncommon.

EDIT: Anecdotal, but a number of ambidextrous people I know still tend to favor their right hand. Usually writing with the left hand is a giveaway they aren’t, in my experience.

That's basically how I operate. Range of motion actions like swinging a bat are right but written is left. Personally I don't really think that's important information on a post.

If we just tagged what's "important", a lot of posts would be barren with tags. Might as well try to include whatever info can help with searching.

That’s entirely fair. I’m nigh exclusively left-handed myself so I do delight in this very, very niche representation, but it’s also a bit of an odd tag to have. Though I guess we have other weird ones, like eye colors.
