If the vibrator isn't in use, what distinguishes it as a vaginal vibrator?

This is the point I'm making, yes.

Then it is a vibrator.
It should be noted that vaginal_vibrator's wiki says it's for "A vibrator in the pussy." Which is of course exactly what vibrator_in_pussy is for.

Alias to vibrator instead, because people could easily see a vibrator and say "oh yeah that's for pussies, not anus or dick"

80% of Amazon descriptions for vibrators and dildos. Therefore, that's a pretty valid point.

there are things such as butterfly vibrators or clitoral massages that are not compatible with the anus
other than that, #vibrator_in_pussy indicates penetration, and #vaginal_vibrator indicates a type of object

Yes, blame me for this mess. Was trying to distinguish the difference but then ran into issues mentioned. Ugh, there might be better ways to do this? There are in fact anal-specific vibrators as well. I guess if it's not obvious which, use the general tag 'vibrator'?
I decided to check back on this topic. After skimming the responses, I was just about to write a new reply when I realized that it had already been started for me:

This is the true spirit of what I intended when I made this suggestion.

No blame; in fact I applaud your desire to make the site more searchable! That was the impetus for this alias suggestion in the first place.

Indeed. In a vacuum, with no additional context, vaginal_vibrator probably should be aliased to vibrator, because from my perspective (and I know this is borderline heretical to say on this site lol) that is an unnecessary level of distinction/specificity. If it did turn out to be necessary or helpful, vaginal_vibrator should ostensibly be used to convey the information of {a vibrator meant/designed to be used in/on a vagina}. However, at present I feel like I'm seeing vaginal_vibrator used -- more often than not -- to convey the information {a vibrator exists inside of a vagina}, when that information is already perfectly conveyed by vibrator_in_pussy. To wit:

I don't particularly mind whether or not this specific alias is approved*, but the tag cloud is being unnecessarily cluttered/diluted/muddled with the overlap in semantics here. I would be perfectly willing to update the appropriate wiki pages and re-tag the relatively small number of relevant posts as long as someone higher-up understands the situation and it doesn't come across as tag vandalism.
*perhaps, as a compromise, the alias vaginal_vibrator -> vibrator_in_pussy could be approved but then immediately modified to become vaginal_vibrator -> vibrator? Just spitballing, here.
I guess it really only makes sense as a tag for specific types of vibrators? :/ In practice, it turned out to basically be vibrating dildos in vaginas. Which is probably not really the desired outcome. Sigh...

This should have been rejected, just because a butterfly vibrator (or other type of vaginal-only vibrator) is in an image does not mean it is in use.
And a vibrator doesn't have to be in a pussy to be used on or around it. Would've been better to alias to simply vibrator instead.
