The tag implication #43692 yellow_toad -> toad_(mario) has been rejected.
Reason: Yellow is among the many toad colors.
EDIT: The tag implication yellow_toad -> toad_(mario) (forum #331092) has been rejected by @bitWolfy.

What's the problem with the (color)_toad tags implicating toad_(mario)? (other than the fact it should've been made as a BUR)
They're not actual named characters like Toadette or Toadsworth, just a subset of the toad species. These should be moved to the species category instead then the implication should be fine.
My first thought was it was a literal yellow toad, as in a type of frog. Since toad_(mario) has the mario suffix to disambiguate it, perhaps the other colors sub-species should too.
That said, yellow_toad, red_toad, green_toad, and blue_toad are all currently character tags, not a (sub-)species tag.

Alternate species. They're still recognizable as originating from the Toad species, but aren't currently it, so they can get the color_toad tag but not the toad_(species) tag.

Are they actually characters, though, or just alternate colors of the species? If there can be more than one blue toad, I don’t think it can be a character and thus can’t be alternate species. It would probably have to be treated the same as shiny Pokémon which is also a species tag, and your cat_toad example would be like a subspecies of toad, or maybe a hybrid.

That's a can of worms. The short answer is yes, they're individual characters, and yes, they're alternate colors of the species.
