It would be appropriate to judge according to the Origin nation, rather than cooking methods or regional variations.
So, IF anybody were to make implications of _food ...

• For Gyoza/Jiaozi,
• [ alias ] gyoza , guotie -> jiaozi ： Japanese Gyōza( 焼き餃子 ) and "Chinese Guotie( 鍋貼 ) are still "Jiaozi".
• [ implication ] jiaoji -> chinese_food ： Originated in China. (( "There are many types of Jiaoji , And Even if they are pan-fried, they are still "Jiaoji" And Chinese food ... right? ))

• For Takoyaki,
• [ implication ] takoyaki -> japanese_food ： Originated in Japan. (( Osaka, To be exact. ))
