Topic: PSA: When tagging Five Nights at Freddy's, the animatronic tag only applies to ROBOTS

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

I want to make it clear that there is a quite a lot of artwork here that tags non-robotic version FNAF characters with the animatronic tag and it can be quite a disaster for those who are trying to navigate a Roxanne picture without her plastic faced robotic appearance.

For instance pictures like these (below) should not have the animatronic or robot tag because these characters are fully alive here. Just like in the promotional arts found in Security Breach, this version of the characters portrays the original cartoon version of them (since animatronics are just robots trying to imitate a cartoon character)

However there can be cases where the characters are a mix of the both such as these. In other words, the giveaway should be the visible mechanical parts which would determine the use of the robot tag. Normally straight lines that suggest a metal/plastic plating on the arms and such can determine

and in most cases it can be very obvious if they are robot meaning they look exactly like they do from the video games

Updated

I swear I've seen something about this before, but it must have only been on the discord or something.

Images should definitely only be tagged by what's in them, not the origin story of them.
First set are organic. Second set are android. Last image is animatronic.

  • Organic - No evidence of mechanic parts at all
  • Bionics - An organic body with an an organic-looking artificial limb. post #3220383's limbs fit, if it didn't already qualify as android.
  • Cybernetics - An organic body with an artificial limb.
  • Android - A robotic body with some synthetic flesh to seem more organic.
  • Animatronic - A robotic body with a shell over it.
  • Robot - Other tags may imply this, only tag it without them if it seems to be the endoskeleton.

Do we have a tag for specifically mechanical robotic bodies that don't have and aren't made for the shells that make them animatronic?

Or... whatever these qualify as?
