No, it is a subtag for age_difference whereby all age groups can be a part of. For example, a teenage female and an elderly male would be younger_female older_male.

so why don't we just use the age_different tag?
so it doesn't make very sense for the younger_female tag to exist.

It's quite useful.
Let's say that you were looking for a post with a younger female and an older male.
Without this tag, the closest search would be age_difference male female, but that would also return results with an older female and a younger male.

Okay, I didn't think about it.
This and related tags really need to be renamed. Many users have the same misconception as OP. It's even worse with the older_* tags.
