Tengu's name is similar to the name of a Chinese demon dog, but are always defined as having bird traits. I've never heard of there being any kind of tengu that's not bird, such as a "Wolf Tengu".

Edit: The one existing use of wolf_tengu is on post #3113643. The relevant character, momiji_inubashiri, is otherwise always tagged as wolf_humanoid instead. Apparently, Touhou decided to invent this new class of tengu that had nothing to do with proper tengu, we should just alias that to wolf humanoid on our end.

Traditionally, tengu come in three varieties: avian, monkey, and human. Wolves aren't one of them. Conceivably, other sorts of tengu could be created for a franchise or medium, but I'm inclined to agree with Furrin Gok on this one.
