Topic: [REJECTED] Tag alias: pokemon_domination -> dominant_pokemon

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

This seems like the kind of tag that would be aliased away for being too specific (we don't tag particular species or groups of species being dominant or submissive). There aren't many uses of the tag either.

I mean, this isn't strictly another case of zebra_domination, I could see this having some use for tagging role-reversal "training the trainers"-type scenarios. That said, that doesn't appear to be the vast majority of uses under the present tags, and I don't trust it to be used more appropriately in the future.

EDIT: Also, always a good idea to check changes history with suspect tags like this. All but three of the uses of pokemon_domination were by just 3 users, one of whom is OP. Meanwhile the majority of uses of dominant_pokemon were by 4 users, one of whom has literally nothing else in their tagging history.

On the one hand... role_reversal is a tag. The wiki even specifically mentions Poké- and Digimon.

On the other hand... poképhilia and digiphilia are also tags so I guess there's precedent. Sort of. Maybe.

We'd have many new tags on our hands if we created a dominant_x or xphilia tag for every monster-catching game.

Would we? The only three scenarios I'm aware of are Pokemon, Digimon, and Temtem. Temtem only has slightly over a hundred tags, and only two pair a human with a temtem. You might even throw in Monster Rancher, which has over 200 total images, and 34 images under monster_rancher human interspecies, but I feel that's too vaguely named as a series to even get a -philia tag. Monsterphilia just sounds like an attraction to anything monstrous.

Say a bunch of series did crop up that I'm just not familiar with, I'd say until it gets to 100 human interspecies posts, it does not need its own philia tag.

Does monster_hunter count? It even has its own Pokémon-like spinoff series these days.
