Do I see it right, that this tag is very often wrong used?
-Tentacles are no character, in most cases. So they shouldn't be tagged with a gender, right?
-Disembodied_penises are always male characters.
-Characters with visible genitalia should be identifiable in most cases.
-Fingering and fisting shouldn't be tagged as penetration, therefore no ambiguous_penetrating

The only exception I see at the moment are tentacle monsters or similar with obscured genitalia.

I want to know why is fisting not considered penetration....

In order:
Tentacles are only characters if the character they are attached to is blatantly present, such as Cthulhu and his tentacles. If it's just Cthulhu's tentacles sticking out, but you can't tell it's him, you don't tag the tentacles as a character...
Disembodied_penis implies male, so yes... though TBT, I could see instances where something like disembodied breasts contradict that because they're floating with the penis, implying the character is a gynomorph, but that's highly unlikely.
I take "identifiable" as "gender-able", in which case yes: a character who has a penis and no contradicting evidence for gender should be tagged male, a character with a pussy and no contradicting evidence for gender should be female, and et cetera.
And lastly, I've read the wiki and find it odd we're excluding fisting/fingering from penetration... don't they need to penetrate the vagina (etc.) in order to be considered such?

As for your first most question, it's frankly hard to say since there are many different images being tagged ambiguous_penetrating. I feel like this will be an instance of RAW (rules as written) vs RAI (rules as intended) for the tag, since some images in the results clearly intend to be an ambiguous character penetrating another, but aren't from a strict list that defines penetration.

That's a thing that bugs me the whole time, since I've read the penetration wiki. I asked this before in the forum topic #29231, but the only reply was "I honestly don't understand either." I even asked an admin about it, they said I should ask another admin. The other admin didn't respond. :c
