Not sure how relevant this is, but I just want to point out something similar that I've found out in regards to tail_maw/tail_mouth.
According to topic #19433, tail_maw =/= tail_mouth in that maw is just an opening, with mouth has full rows of teeth and tongue.

Currently tail_mouth implies tail_maw, so if we are pushing for no difference in between maw & mouth, then we should alias tail_maw/tail_mouth as well.
