I think it's just bad anatomy.

I keep seeing it every once in a while and I'm always tempted to comment on it. This isn't entirely tangential, if it's an anatomical quirk then the tag has merit for pointing it out (similar to other tags listed on questionable anatomy).

Before implicating this anywhere, it'd be better to figure out if it's worth keeping. It's recently been tagged by hundreds by a single user, and they also made the wiki. 'To be used when a characters anus is located at the base of the tail'? Not sure if that's valid usage, it applies to most anthros/ferals. As for anatomical incorrectness...

Is that an actual thing, like does it show up on real animals?

That is where the cloaca is located on most reptiles, the last two thumbs anyway. 'course, anatomical accuracy is out of the window since those are anthros with humanoid genitalia, but it is somewhat logical placement for a separate anus on scalies. So questionable anatomy shouldn't apply to those. Unless we consider the whole 'separate anus and genitalia instead of cloaca' questionable.

I vehemently disagree with the current definition of this tag, as well as the way it's being used.

IMHO, these are probably the best examples of what a "tail anus" is:

That's an anus located on a tail itself.

The current usage of the tag is very vague and misleading. "Anus is located at the base of the tail" just sounds like anatomically_correct for tailed creatures.

Honestly, before I clicked on this, I thought it was literally just a tag for anuses on tails, regardless of where on the tail it is. Considering anything from mouths to dicks get drawn on tails, I don't see any reason why that couldn't be a thing, but... not with that tag wiki.
