Topic: An upload that I had on the site for almost a month never got approved and was deleted.

Posted under General

Yeah so about a month or a little less ago I made the following upload (https://e621.net/posts/2387382), I took time to tag and credit the artist and all only for it not to be approved by anyone so it was deleted? I've never had this happen to me before as I don't really upload anything extreme and I don't upload often but I feel like if I did something wrong it should be made more apparent because if I'm using your site to share/ upload art to in the future I want to make sure this doesn't happen again. It was up for a while without issue but now it's just gone and I didn't know when exactly nor for how long its been deleted or if I can get it back.

I'd also like to say that the image wasn't grotesque or poor quality in any way and I had full permission from the artist to upload it. I followed the guidelines carefully and it was received rather well. I can't think of why it wouldn't be approved...

You might as well have just messaged an admin if there isn't even a source link for users to look at. The forum gets these threads weekly and there's nothing for a regular user to do here but assume the post was bad enough to fail approval.

Can't speak about the image specifically, but I can say that not tagging an artist and not providing a source makes a post less likely to be approved, or more likely to fall through the cracks and just not be approved in time. There is no source provided, so we can't see for ourselves why it may have not been approved.

As for getting it back, send a dmail to the head admin NotMeNotYou. They can take a look and undelete the post if they feel it's good enough to be approved.

I wish that you specified a source for that image, so that I could see it for myself.
In fact, I really wish that you left the source for any of the images that you posted. But that's neither here nor there.

A post gets deleted by the auto-mod if none of the approvers want to, well, approve it. The usual reason for that is not meeting the minimum quality standards.
I wish that I could tell you more, but without being able to see an image, that's not possible.

including a valid source increases your chances of moderator appraisal before the time limit of auto deletion takes effect.

You should include a source in all of your uploads.

Including a source doesn't guarantee that your post will be approved.
But it makes approval more likely.

No artist and no source = No approval, or at the very least it would be looked at last.

Main issue here is that it's post featuring a thing, instead of clear character.
Most of the posts which have literally penis in it are much harder to handle, because there's now additional questions on stuff like characters species if it's too humanoid or does it even count as character or e.g. sex toy.

In this instance I could maybe lean towards it being part of non-humanoid character, but as it was automatically deleted by automod, you should be in contact with head admin like it says on bots bio.

We do actually have janitors who will not approve posts without any sources or artist tags or keep those posts in backburner, so if you do not have source on the post, it will actually impact approval of it.
It wouldn't surprise me that because this kind of post is usually borderline and lacking any sources made few janitors skip it, it was enough to not be handled.

Funny, this has happen to me but with two safe images albeit at different times of the year. I have message a admin on here before but they never responsed back to be or approve the posts I asked to be re-approve.
