Why is it a Copyright tag?

For the same reason holidays like Christmas (for example) are copyright tags. The copyright tags can also be considered a "theme tag" that lumps posts with a certain overall subject together. In the majority of cases, these themes or subjects are media franchises or companies, hence why they're called copyright tags for simplicity of association. However, in some cases, like certain memes or holidays, there's no real copyright involved, but it's still useful to have the posts together in that manner.
