Topic: Is e621 going in a good path?

I mostly ask this as E6 recently has been going through a lot of changes, changes that have been said to be 'for everyone's benefit' but I kinda wanna know what most people really think. Though, seeing how few people that visit and use the site actually look at the forums, this may end up being somewhat inaccurate.

It's hard to say when things exactly started...going like the way they are. Some could say it's when they changed the dickgirl and cuntboy tags, others might say it's when the site totally changed despite...not at all being ready to. A lot of people were shocked by that due to...the ineffective advertisement and warning of it, then there was the fact it was a really big buggy mess... Which was somewhat blamed on the users as we were A, supposed to be aware of the beta and B, helping to test it...

Now there's more talk of more changes and additions to tags it just... it seems like E6 is spreading itself too thin and isn't effectively communicating to its users. I dunno, maybe I'm alone in this thinking...

I just want things to go back to how they were for so, so long.

It seems like it is. Tagging standards have improved massively, uploading is easier now than it has ever been, the influx of art has increased dramatically, transparency in moderation has gone way up, the search function is even more powerful, users are generally polite and helpful, and e6's reputation has generally improved, too.

I'm looking at the path it's taken since just after it started, when I first started hanging around here, all the way to now. If you've only been here for a few years then your perspective may differ. But it's always been changing, and I think that on the whole it continues to improve as a searchable archive for furry art.

A lot of this uncertainty is that change is unsettling to people, even when it is to their benefit. Are the changes really bad or are we really just trying to find justifications for our fear of change? Change brings the unknown, and we fear the unknown because we put our continued survival on the line every time we confront it. Even if that survival is our mental perception of a stable, well-ordered world at risk of disruption because a website that's important to us has made significant changes.

No, I don't want things to stay the same as they used to be. I want things to improve, and that requires changes. Will all changes be for the better? No, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't be tried so that we know if they're good, bad, or indifferent. My opinion is that it's going in a good path.

Just remember that the old e621 that you want to go back to was once a new e621 that you used to dislike just as you now dislike the current e621.

Absolutely, a lot of requested features are finally here, the site runs faster than ever the whole thing is a lot nicer.

The last forum posts you made were arguing and throwing shit around like how "transphobia" is a buzzword and isnt real.

I dont mean to sound rude, but its obvious as hell that this thread is b8.
