If they qualify as semi-anthro you've got a lot of leeway, but if they're human-framed it's probably going to depend on how they're drawn.

You can also kinda cheat by doing a bit of research on the character, seeing what their creator's marked down. TWYS always takes priority, of course, but lore can help you with what you're seeing.
