Topic: Is there an easy way to replace inferior images?

Posted under General

A long time ago i uploaded a webcomic i dowloaded from wayback from an artist's tumblr that got deleted from tumblr. But the images i got were crummy and I didnt notice because i rushed the whole thing on a mobile device. Someone notified me of this and sent me a message containing links to superior versions of the images for the webcomic so i can replace them. Thats cool but uploading and tagging all of that the first time around took me hours and i would like to avoid going through the same process to replace the images.

Basically, I just wanna know if there is an easier way of replacing inferior images than just reuploading and tagging the superior ones and flagging the inferior ones.

Nope, but it shouldn't be too hard to tag the new images. Just copy and paste the tags into any one of the boxes.

The "easy" way to go about doing things is to open the old image on a separate tab, copy over all the tags, and then include child: followed by the number at the end of the url for the old image. This prevents you from needing to edit the old image to include a parent id, as you cover that while uploading the new one, though you still need to flag the old post as an inferior.

A bigger issue is all the comments get lost. XD

You can link the inferior post in the description, via post #*****, replacing the asterisks with the post ID. The comments still exist on the inferior post, and this method allows people to access them.
